Can I own a Corgi in Singapore?

Yes, if you live in private housing. The Corgi is not on HDB's approved list of 62 breeds (verified July 2026), so it cannot legally live in an HDB flat, and no appeal or cross-breed loophole changes that. For condo and landed homes, a healthy Pembroke Welsh Corgi from our AVS licensed shop is $3,288–$4,488 all-in, home around week 9.

Published pricing, because guessing games help nobody

Our Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies are $3,288–$4,488 all-in, and all-in means all-in. The price includes the vet health check, vaccinations on schedule, deworming, microchip, breed identification papers, a 30-item starter kit worth over $500, free home delivery with playpen setup, a free AVS-certified first training lesson, and your dog licence handled at purchase.

Compare that with the ranges you will see elsewhere, $3,000 to $9,000 quoted on listing sites, and one widely-shared insurance blog claiming Corgis cost $7,880 to $8,500, and you can see why we publish our numbers instead of asking you to WhatsApp for a surprise.

A word on cheap Corgis. One local buyer made the news after handing $6,400 to an unlicensed seller for two corgi puppies; neither survived their first week home.

A licensed shop cannot and will not compete with smuggled prices, what you are paying for is a puppy that was legally imported or locally raised, health-checked by a vet, vaccinated on schedule, and backed by a shop that still answers your messages in month six. That is what the licence number in our footer means.

The housing question we always ask

Here is the sentence every other Corgi seller in Singapore buries: the Corgi is not an HDB-approved breed. Not the Pembroke, not the Cardigan, not a Corgi cross. We checked the full 62-breed list on hdb.gov.sg again this month, and no Corgi appears anywhere on it.

So before we talk puppies, we ask one question first: what housing do you live in? If the answer is an HDB flat, we will not sell you a Corgi, a breach risks a fine of up to $4,000 and a rehoming order, and no dog deserves to live one complaint away from losing its home.

If you live in a condo or landed home, welcome to the good part. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is the big-dog life at knee height: a genuine herding athlete with a comedian's timing, a fox-brush tail (ours keep them), and devotion that follows you from room to room.

We are Corgi.sg, the Corgi specialist site of Curious Tails, an AVS licensed pet shop in Balestier, and we have placed 100+ Corgis with Singapore families, every one into private housing, every one with the truth about shedding, herding and exercise told before money changed hands.

Natural tails, honest colours

Most corgi photos on the internet show a docked stump. Ours do not, because our puppies keep their natural tails, red and white or tricolour, standard or fluffy coat, every one with the full brush.

We also hold a hard line on colour ethics: we never place merle Corgis. Merle does not naturally occur in the Pembroke, so a merle "Pembroke" means crossbreeding somewhere recent, and merle-to-merle pairings carry documented deafness and eye-defect risks. No rare-colour premiums, no exceptions, no stories.

The truth we lead with

The Corgi is a working cattle dog in a corgi-shaped costume, and the costume fools people. It sheds like weather, a double coat that drops fur year-round and blows out in spectacular seasonal bursts. It herds: ankles, children, the robot vacuum, occasionally your dinner guests.

It has a big-dog bark and opinions about when to use it. And it needs real daily exercise, two proper walks in Singapore's cooler hours plus play and brain work, or it will freelance as a demolition contractor. We tell you all of this at the first WhatsApp because a Corgi returned at month three is a failure we take personally.

If that list made you grin rather than wince, you are probably the right home. Corgis suit active households that actually want to walk their dog, families with school-age children who will enjoy training the nip into a game of fetch, and owners who find a bossy, hilarious, deeply loyal shadow endearing rather than exhausting.

That is the honest trade: more fur, more energy and more voice than the meme suggests, in exchange for more dog per kilogram than almost anything else on four legs.

How buying from Curious Tails works

Buying from us is deliberately unhurried. Start on WhatsApp at +65 8220 6408, tell us your housing type first, then what you are hoping for in colour, coat and temperament. If a puppy matches, visit us at 2 Balestier Road #01-701 (weekdays 12–6pm, weekends 10–6pm) and spend real time on the floor with the litter; a Corgi puppy's confidence tells you more in ten minutes than any photo gallery.

There is no deposit pressure and no same-day push. When you decide, we handle everything in one sitting: paperwork, licence, starter kit walkthrough, delivery booking.

After the puppy goes home, we stay in the picture. The free first training lesson with an AVS-certified trainer lands in week one, when herding-breed habits are easiest to shape. Our care advice line answers the small panics, the first soft stool, the first coat blow, the first thunderstorm.

Free boarding for up to a month covers travel booked before you met your dog. And the 5-day bring-back promise exists for the honest case where the match is wrong, because a returned deposit is cheaper than a rehomed dog. Vaccination boosters continue at week 12, an optional week 16, then annually from year one; sterilisation conversations happen around month seven.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Corgi cost in Singapore?

Our Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies are $3,288–$4,488 all-in. That includes the vet health check, vaccinations, deworming, microchip, a 30-item starter kit worth over $500, free home delivery with playpen setup, a free AVS-certified first training lesson, and licensing handled at purchase. No add-ons at the door.

Are Corgis allowed in HDB flats?

No. Neither the Pembroke nor the Cardigan Welsh Corgi appears on the HDB approved list of 62 breeds (verified against hdb.gov.sg, July 2026). Our policy follows the law: no Corgi of ours goes to an HDB address, and housing is the first thing we check, before price.

Do your Corgis have docked tails?

No. Our puppies keep their natural tails, the full fox-brush the breed was born with. We state this openly because most corgi imagery online shows docked dogs.

What colours do you place?

Red and white, tricolour, and fluffy (long-coat) Pembrokes. We never place merle Corgis: merle in a Pembroke signals crossbreeding, and merle-to-merle pairings carry serious deafness and eye-defect risks. No colour carries a premium.

How badly do Corgis shed?

Honestly: a lot. The Corgi is a double-coated breed that sheds year-round and blows its undercoat in heavy seasonal bursts. If fur on the sofa is a dealbreaker, this is the wrong breed, we would rather tell you now.

How much exercise does a Corgi need?

A genuine daily commitment: two proper walks in the cooler hours plus play and brain work. The Corgi is a herding athlete, not a couch ornament. Under-exercised Corgis invent their own jobs, and you will not like their choices.

When can a puppy come home?

Around week 9, after vaccinations at weeks 6 and 8 and deworming at each visit. We deliver free, set up the playpen, and walk you through the first-night routine.

Are you a licensed pet shop?

Yes, Curious Tails holds AVS pet shop licence AS24J00046, verifiable on the AVS public registry. Visit us at 2 Balestier Road #01-701, weekdays 12–6pm and weekends 10–6pm.
